Energy + Women Program reinforces commitment to consolidate gender equity in the energy sector

On March 14, 2023, Chile Lands & Minerals was invited, along with other companies in the energy sector, to the annual meeting of the program Energy+Women. Our General Manager, Paula Villar, indicated: “It is always a positive act to commit to providing that support that in the past we all needed from time to time; remembering how we started this wonderful path reminds us of where we came from and summons us all to the service of many other women who today yearn for the same and more”.

The initiative, which began 7 years ago, today joins 100 institutions that have ratified their commitment to advance gender equity and equality and seeks to incorporate, by 2030, 5,000 women leaders in the sector.

Energy +Women is a public-private initiative of the Ministry of Energy through its Office of Gender Equity and Human Rights, whose purpose is make visible the work of women in the sector, its contribution to the energy transition process and also become a platform to promote female leadership with the incorporation of professionals in all fields of action.

The activity was attended by Minister of Energy Diego Pardow; the undersecretary of the portfolio, Luis Felipe Ramos; the head of the Office of Gender and Human Rights, Francisca Valenzuela; the Superintendent of Electricity and Fuel (SEC), Marta Cabeza; the Undersecretary for Women and Gender Equality, Luz Vidal, as well as Marcela Zulantay, promoter of the Energy + Women initiative, among other authorities in the sector, companies, trade associations, and women in the sector.

At the same time, the authority celebrated the achievements of Energy + Women: "We have reached the number 100 of companies that have decided to join this program and we have to continue working so that the 100% of the companies in the sector have their own strategy to face this reality (…) The goal is that by 2030, we can incorporate 5,000 women leaders into the sector”.
